Our Story
Cultivating Healthy Community Through Food
Saladelia was founded on the philosophy that the best moments are those where we come together, break bread, and share stories over a well-made meal. Our belief in this idea ran so deep that we knew we needed to create a space, an experience, to share this passion with our community. That dream was started by owners Fida and Robert Ghanem over 30 years ago, and it continues to this day.
In 1988, the first Saladelia location opened in Durham with the focus of bringing incredible food to our community through an intentionally prepared menu inspired by our Lebanese roots. Sourcing ingredients from local growers, baking our bread in-house daily, and incorporating authentic spices once used in our Taita’s (grandma's) kitchen keeps our recipes close to our home and yours.
At Saladelia, customers are treated as family, with doors open to all and food that accommodates any diet or craving. Our passion for service extends beyond our doors and into the community. When you eat at Saladelia, you’re a part of something bigger.
Whether you’re on the run or staying a while, we can’t wait to be a part of your day.
